I recently tried out Hulu Plus. After dropping cable at home, I was left feeling lonely and missing the few cable shows that I used to enjoy. Scouring the Internet for clips and episodes left me searching questionable sites. Making me click weird things and fill out forms to view. No THANKS. I checked out Hulu and they had recently started showing only limited shows in their system.
Hulu Plus is the premium service for Hulu. Subscribers of Hulu Plus can view all shows in the system. All episodes, all seasons. EVERYTHING is there. I find it to be pretty neat. And for less than $9 per month, it is a no-brainer.
Lets's analyze this. I cancelled my cable package at home. I use an HD antenna to get local broadcast channels. I saved about $100 per month by dropping cable. Then I subscribed to Hulu Plus after using the free trial for a week. The subscription costs $9 per month. This lets me watch ALL of my favorite shows including all past episodes. Pretty darn cool, and pretty darn cheap.
Not only can I log in and watch my shows from any computer, but I can also watch all the shows from my iPhone. Sitting and waiting on someone to meet you for lunch? Fire up Hulu on my phone and watch some shows. It's awesome.
The negatives: The only real complaint I have about the service is COMMERCIALS.
C'mon. This is a premium service. It should NOT have commercials. I get it, just like there are commercials on cable TV, there are commercials on Hulu. I think they should give an option of paying a couple bucks more for NO commercials. Or maybe as an incentive to pay ahead for a year a subscriber can receive NO commercials. Alas, I am not a consultant for Hulu, and they have not asked for my opinion
